HCC trustee Dave Wilson allowed to keep board seat

HOUSTON – A jury Thursday ruled in favor of a Houston Community College board trustee, determining his residency claims were legit and he will be allowed to keep his board seat.

Dave Wilson had been accused of misleading voters and the trial determined if he was actually a resident of his district. The lawsuit alleged the building he claimed is his official residence wasn't where he lived when he filed to run for a spot on the board.

After two hours of deliberation, the jury ruled that Wilson is a resident of the district.

Critics have also accused Wilson of tricking voters into thinking he was black. During the election last year, Wilson sent out fliers linking him to prominent black leaders in the community.
