Halloween/Trick-or-treat event cancellations

HOUSTON – The severe weather in the Houston area has caused communities to cancel some of their Halloween and trick-or-treat events.

Below is a list of cancelled events:

City of Pearland's Trick of Treat Trail has been cancelled due to the weather and unsafe ground conditions. Officials say there will not be a make up date scheduled for this event. Click here for more information.

The Dekaney High School sub-varsity football games scheduled for Thursday against Atascocita has been cancelled because of the wet fields. This applies to the JV and sophomore game at Dekaney and the freshman game at Atascocita.

Goose Creek ISD cancelled after school athletic events, and school buses will be running about 30 to 45 minutes late.

At Dickinson High School, the Extended Learning Opportunities tutorials and the school's Lighted Windows Open Doors tutorial sessions have both been cancelled for Thursday.

The Dickinson High School freshman and junior varsity football games will be played with some slight changes.

The freshman "A" game has been moved up to 4 p.m. and the freshman "B" game will start immediately following at approximately 5:30 p.m., both at Dickinson ISD's Sam Vitanza Stadium. The two junior varsity games, which originally were to be played in Clear Creek ISD, have been combined into one game and moved to Dickinson ISD's Sam Vitanza Stadium. The JV game will start immediately following the freshman B game at approximately 6:45 p.m.

At McAdams Junior High all after school activities have been cancelled. All students are encouraged to ride the bus home immediately after school.
