Gunmen tie up, rob man in southwest Houston apartment

Computer, iPad, phone, school books, wallet, Kia Sorento stolen

HOUSTON – Three armed men robbed a man inside his southwest Houston apartment.

It happened at the Park Lakes complex at 9955 Buffalo Speedway about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, said Houston police.

The 21-year-old victim said someone knocked at his apartment, which he shares with his father. He first ignored it, but then answered.

"I just kept hearing the knocks on the door and eventually I opened the door and they stuck the gun in and I backed up and just dropped everything and they just started threatening me," said the college student, who asked not to be named. "I'm trying to do right. I work. I'm in school full time. I just got off work to come here to do homework and someone to target me like this. It's just unfortunate."

One man put a gun to his head and threatened to kill him, the victim said.

The armed robbers tied him up with plastic ties as they ransacked a closet, went through drawers, and even broke a frame to steal a $1 bill, the victim said.

The armed robbers stole his computer, iPad, phone, school books, and wallet, he said. They left in his black Kia Sorento.

Houston police are investigating.
