Gunman arrested after 2 women wounded in pool hall shooting

HARRIS COUNTY – The gunman who authorities said opened fire and wounded two people at a northwest Harris County pool hall has been arrested.

It happened early Monday morning at Q Stix Billiards and Sports Bar, located near W. FM 1960 and Ella Boulevard.

Officials said around 1 a.m. Monday, a man and woman walked into the bar.

Staff at the bar said at some point, the woman left and the man stayed inside. Then, the man walked out only to return around 2 a.m. looking for the woman.

Employees said the man, later identified as 44-year-old Gregory Schei, banged on the front door asking for the woman who he was originally with.

Staff told Schei that she was not there and that they pool hall was closed, but the man threatened that he would "shoot up the place," if they didn't find her. Schei left and returned a short time later with a gun.

Officials said Schei fired at least 13 rounds at the door. He drove around the building, came back and fired another five rounds at the door.

Police said two women were hit and transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening conditions. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said one woman was wounded in the wrist, and the other was hit in the shoulder.
