HOUSTON - The Sharpstown Civic Association says their efforts are cutting down on crime in southwest Houston.
The group announced the results of its 20-month crime reduction effort Thursday. According to the association, this year there were 92 burglaries in the area, compared to 162 last year.
The group attributes the decrease to a private security patrol and proactive residents.
