Branch, who also heads up the House committee on higher education, presented Allen with a flag that was flown over the Texas Capitol.

"This is a flag that was flown over the Capitol and so hopefully this will remind you of the leadership you've shown to so many students across Texas," Said Branch.

Allen graduated from Cypress Ridge High School and later went on to work with the district.
