Ground beef recall hits Texas

23,000 pounds recalled after possible E-Coli contamination

WASHINGTON – About 23,000 pounds of ground beef are being recalled because of possible E-Coli contamination.

The National Beef Packing Company shipped the suspected tainted beef to twelve states, including Texas.

The USDA is still investigating to get a list of stores that sold it and so far, no illnesses have been reported.

The effected products include:

• 10 lb. packages of "National Beef" 80/20 Coarse Ground Chuck, package code "0481"
• 10 lb. packages of "National Beef" 81/19 Coarse Ground Beef, package code "0421"
• 10 lb. packages of "National Beef" 80/20 Fine Ground Chuck, package code "0484"
