A Houston based grass roots organization that claimed it was targeted by the federal government has received tax exempt status.
The decision came after a three year fight. Chatherine Englebrecht founded the King Street Patriots in 2010 and applied for tax exempt status.
Englebrecht says that was followed by the IRS audits, calls from the FBI and visits to her business by OSHA and the ATF.
Englebrecht sued the IRS claiming the agency sigled out groups with political sounding names.
