HOUSTON - Arson crews are investigating a house fire that displaced a grandfather.

It happened around 11 p.m. Thursday at the home on 11302 Sandhurst Drive and Selinsky Road.

The homeowner, who's lived in the house for more than 40 years, says his granddaughter first noticed the fire.

Firefighters say it started in a back room.

The homeowner tried to put it out, but it quickly spread out of control.

The good news is the homeowner and his granddaughter made it out safely.
