HOUSTON - The weekend shooting death of a man at a barber shop will be referred to the Harris County grand jury, Houston police said.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of Greens Road around 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

The barber shop owner said he was arguing with a customer who refused to leave the shop. He said the customer threatened him, so in fear for his safety, he pulled out his gun and fired.

The shop owner then called 911.

The victim was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
