Girlfriend of man charged with sexual assault speaks out

Rickey Zepeda, 33, charged with sexual assault

CYPRESS, Texas – A man accused of raping and robbing women in Cypress has faced a judge, but while investigators build their case against Rickey Zepeda, his girlfriend doesn't believe all of the charges against him.

Zepeda, 33, appeared in court on Sunday,  as a judge described the vicious crimes he's accused of committing.

Police say Zepeda tied up, beat up, raped and then robbed two women during two separate home invasions in Cypress earlier this month.

Zepeda's girlfriend, who asked that her identity not be revealed, said her boyfriend may be a thief, but not a rapist.

"They're accusing him maybe because he did the robbery in my car; but for him to rape her...the rape I don't believe," she told Local 2.

Investigators said both victims identified Zepeda as their attacker in a photo line up.

Officers said there may also be incriminating video evidence.
