DAYTON, Texas -

A 12-year-old girl was driving a small car from her house to a barn when she ran over her younger sister.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office said the girl told her siblings to stop, and when she got to the barn she noticed some of the kids were screaming.

According to officials, the 12-year-old got out of the car and saw her 4-year-old half-sister underneath the tire.

Parents drove the 4-year-old to the Dayton Police Department, where she was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital with an injury below her right hip.

Officials said the girl is stable and listed in good condition.

The case is still under investigation, but officials doubt charges will be filed because the incident appears to be an incident.
