HOUSTON -

You can get a free pretzel  -- salted or unsalted -- at four malls in our area on Friday in honor of national pretzel day. The Participating Pretzelmakers are listed in Memorial city, Willowbrook, Deerbrook and The Woodlands malls. You are encouraged to tell a joke to get the free treat, but if you are shy you can simply say "National Pretzel Day."

The makers of Wheat Thins want you to try their salty snack, too.  Just go to their Twitter page to sign up for a free box while supplies last.

If you sign up to become a member of Scott products, you can get a free roll of the new Scott extra soft tissue.

Friday night at Discovery Green, Houstonians will gather for a free celebration of our city. There will be live performances. Dr. Stephen Klineberg will present results of the 2013 Houston area survey. Local 2's Khambrel Marshall will out there to emcee the free city event.

In Cypress on Saturday, there's  free fun at nature fest at Bridgeland's Oak Meadow Park from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.  There will be free pony and camel rides, a petting zoo and bubble runners. There will also be free stage entertainment.  The food and drinks will cost you, but admission is free.
