HOUSTON - Do-it-yourselfers, we've found a place where you can get free paint and yard supplies.
Dozens of people waited in line Friday for the doors to open on the city of Houston's Environmental Service Center on South Post Oak at Main.
"I've come before and it is worth the wait. Yes, it is," said Lovey Newsome, who waited in line for more than one hour.
Inside the center are gallons of free paint and free yard supplies free for the taking. The items are brought in by others for recycling. The paint and supplies that are good are turned around and offered up for free every Friday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
"Paint is $35, $40, $60 so yeah, they are saving a lot of money," said Jerrell, Simples who works at the center.
You get to pick the brands and colors you want. You just need to bring your driver's license.
