Houston Astros' Dallas Keuchel wins American League Cy Young Award

HOUSTON – Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel was named the 2015 American League Cy Young Award.

Keuchel becomes the third Astro to win the award along with Mike Scott in 1986 and Roger Clemens in 2004.

Keuchel was up against Oakland's Sonny Gray and Toronto's David Price.

Keuchel went 20-8 with three complete games and a 2.48 ERA (64ER/232IP) in 33 starts this season.

He led all AL pitchers in wins, WAR (7.2), innings pitched (232.0) and ground ball to fly ball ratio (3.68), ranked second in ERA and opponent batting average (.217) and tied for third in complete games.

He was the starting pitcher for the AL All-Star Team and earned three AL Pitcher of the Month Awards (April, May, August).

He also won the Gold Glove at his position, for the second consecutive season.

In his two postseason starts, Keuchel went 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA (1ER/13IP).

Carlos Correa won the AL Rookie of the Year Award on Monday. Astros manager A.J. Hinch placed second behind the Rangers' Jeff Banister in the AL Manager of the Year Award.
