Gas station attendant stops purse snatching

Couple has prior convictions, police say

FRIENDSWOOD – An observant gas station attendant interrupted a purse snatching in progress at a Kroger gas station. On Tuesday, police said Chrisheena Ladale Milburn, 22, of Houston, and Marque Undray Coleman, 30, also of Houston, drove up to the gas station at 3161 FM 528 at 2:39 p.m. in a black Pontiac.

Police said Milburn then got out of the car and opened the passenger side door of another car in an attempt to steal a purse inside, while the 69-year-old driver of the other car was pumping gas.

The gas station employee interrupted the theft by walking up to both vehicles as Milburn was about to snatch the purse, according to police.

According to reports, the pair then sped out of the parking lot heading towards Interstate 45. The attendant called police and gave a description of the couple. The purse-snatching pair were stopped on Interstate 45 near El Dorado and taken into custody.

Milburn, is being held in the Harris County Jail, and was charged with criminal trespass of a vehicle. Police said she had recently received three years probation for theft on Feb. 18. She has other convictions including car theft, drugs, and escape, according to police.

Coleman was charged with driving with an invalid license and reckless driving. He is also being held in the Harris County Jail. He was charged with criminal trespass in February 2012. He has prior convictions including theft, drugs, and criminal trespass, according to police.
