Gas prices expected to rise

HOUSTON – Gas prices are on the rise, and experts warn things could get worse before we start to see any relief.

By August, experts said gas prices could jump anywhere from 25 to 35 cents a gallon.

Industry leaders said the hike in gas prices is driven by turmoil in oil-producing countries like Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Brazil.

Experts said the price of oil has been shooting up, but gasoline prices have not caught up yet.

Across Texas, gasoline prices have risen 4 cents this week. Officials with AAA said that's a result of more drivers heading out to summer destinations.
