Gas leaks overnight in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – It took crews nearly two days to fix a gas leak in southwest Houston.

A tractor broke a large gas main under the road near Fondren at Croton around 3 p.m. Tuesday. The line spewed natural gas for hours and there were no evacuations.

No one was hurt and crews worked throughout the night to contain the leak.

The cleanup is expected to wrap up Wednesday morning.
