Galveston police issue warning for counterfeit bills

GALVESTON – Galveston police are asking people to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.

The Galveston Police Department said it received a report from Webster police warning of counterfeit bills being passed along Interstate 45.

According to officials, Webster police responded to an incident on Sunday where nine counterfeit $20 bills were passed at the Academy, located at 21351 IH 45.

Police said the suspect is a white female with a medium build. She is believed to be in her mid to late 20s with short, dark hair. She was accompanied by a black man, and both were seen leaving in a white Chevrolet Impala.

Galveston police is warning local businesses to inspect money received. The three fake serial numbers recovered are as follows:

  • 1F02340876F
  • 1L41465403G
