Fugitive arrested, facing child sexual assault charges in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – After being on the run for almost six months, a man is behind bars Wednesday in Montgomery County.

Rexhep Rraci, 22, is charged with child sexual assault.

A source said he assaulted a young boy in alleged incident back in October 2015. When investigators went to talk to him, Rraci had already fled the country and went overseas.

The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force tracked Rraci down in Kosovo. He was brought back to the United States last week and had to go before a magistrate judge in Newark, New Jersey, before he could be brought back to Montgomery County.

Sheriff’s deputies flew to New Jersey Tuesday to retrieve him.

Rraci was considered a person of interest in the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl who was jogging on Lake Woodlands Parkway near Shadowbend Place. However, a source tells KPRC Rraci had already skipped the country before then.
