Cheerleaders at Friendswood High School are gearing up to compete against hundreds of other squads at a national competition.
The Mustangs will compete in the American Cheer Power Southern National Championship at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
This competition is something the team has spent hours preparing for.
“We practice about seven hours a week on the floors here,” said Mustangs coach Kerri Yee. “They’re tough athletes. We condition. We train hard. We work hard. Their routines are designed where we cheer, we dance, we stunt. There’s something for everyone. And, they have to be on every day. The competition is based on perfection.”
The competition begins Friday and runs through Sunday.
Good luck, girls!
