HOUSTON -

As one of Houston's most premiere hand surgeons, Michael Brown lived like royalty, earning hundreds of millions of dollars before filing for bankruptcy and taking his own life.

Now some of Brown's assets, said to be worth millions, are missing.

Federal prosecutors believe Russian Artist Irina Bogatcheva may be hiding part of his fortune, including cash and valuable glass sculptures.

On Tuesday, Bogatcheva and a 40-year-old French model living in Miami were ordered to appear in bankruptcy court for questioning.

"All the artwork, it's only mine. I have a lot of beautiful sculptures," Bogatcheva said.

Local 2 tracked Bogatcheva down after federal marshals were ordered to seize property at her house in Miami.

"Absolutely, I do not have assets of Mr. Brown's. He was supposed to buy my paintings. He gave me a little advance for materials. That's it. Then he died. Actually, he owes me money," Bogatcheva said.

She denied hiding anything. According to court documents, Brown and his girlfriend twice delivered property to her home.

"This is probably a lie. This is people guessing me because I am famous and I have very big name people to point to me for some kind of reason," Bogatcheva said.

Court papers show that on October 24th, Brown's property, including expensive jewelry said to be worth as much as $250,000, vanished from his posh Miami Beach mansion, which is now up for sale.
