Four charged in shooting deaths of Houston mother, son

Police believe motive was drug-related

HOUSTON – Four suspects have been charged in the shooting deaths of a Houston mother and her 10-year-old son.

Officials said Le "Lena" Nguyen, 41, and her son, Brandon Vu, were shot and killed at their home in the 6600 block of Westwick Drive on the afternoon of May 13.

Houston police said Desmenn Demond "Torch" Simon, 25, and Donte "Tay" Earls, 23, were taken into custody on Wednesday. They have been charged with capital murder.

Jerome Dewon Godine, 22, and Bobby Austin, 23, were arrested and charged with capital murder earlier this week.

A third victim, Hoai Tranh Vu, 40, was also wounded. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he remains in critical condition. 

The motive in this shooting incident is believed to be drug-related.
