Fort Bend County animal shelters offer discounted adoptions

ROSENBERG, Texas – Officials at two animal shelters in Fort Bend County said they are offering discounted adoption rates to help free up space at the facilities.

According to a Facebook post by the Fort Bend County Animal Shelter, officials are hoping to make 60 adoptions, rescues or fosters by Saturday.

The post said that adoption specials of $10 for animals on the facility’s priority list have been extended. The adoption fee for cats not on the list is $7 and $17 for dogs not on the list.

Officials at the Sugar Land Animal Shelter said 40 dogs are currently being housed at the facility, which is designed for only 24 dogs.

To help free up space, the facility is offering a special adoption rate of $55 for dogs through April 30. The fee includes vaccinations, spaying or neutering and a microchip with lifetime registration.
