HOUSTON - A former inmate said his civil rights were violated by one of the guards at the Harris County Jail.

The attack on Charlie Love Jr. was caught on a surveillance video in December 2011.

The video shows Deputy Marvin Jack hitting Love and taking him to the ground.

After an investigation, the department fired the deputy in 2012.

However, now some are calling for a federal investigation.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office forwarded the case to the district attorney's office. They declined to comment on potential criminal charges.
