Pct.4: Former HPD officer had 4-year-old with him when busted in prostitution sting

North Harris County prostitution bust nets a dozen arrests

Twelve people have been arrested for prostitution, including an ex-Houston police officer.

Houston police have confirmed Matthias Dornellien, 30, was on the force from May 2009 to February 2011. He worked as a patrolman in the Third Ward.

He was recently put on probation for five years for theft by a public servant allegations. In 2010 Dornellien was accused of stealing money from people he was pulling over.

This week, Harris County constables say Dornellien brought his 4-year-old daughter with him when he attempted to buy sex from an undercover officer.

"People need to know we're not going to tolerate that type of criminal activity in Precinct 4," the 4th precinct said.

"It's my understanding we did have an individual arrested that did have a 4-year-old child with him and that child was taken care of by CPS," the 4th Precinct constable said.

The operation stemmed from numerous complaints of possible soliciting in the area of I-45 and Cypresswood.

The offers for sex happened at all hours of the day, in a very busy area frequented by kids and families.

"This location, Spring High School is right there, kids are getting out of school every time of the day going through the parking lots, going to the Burger King, family places, businesses, and this activity is taking place right there. We feel like they were random. They see a street-level prostitute, ... (who) is in reality an undercover officer, and they solicit that officer for sexual acts," Herman said.

Herman says the majority of information on this kind of criminal activity comes from tips from citizens. If you have any information, you are asked to call the constable's office.
