Former HISD officer pleads guilty to improper relationship with child

HOUSTON – Jacob Delgadillo, a former Houston Independent School District Police officer, accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty Wednesday to having an improper relationship with a student.

The 30-year-old stood in front of the judge as the details of his punishment were laid out.

Delgadillo will serve five years deferred adjudication.

During that time, he can't have contact with the victim and or any minors except for his young son, and they'll monitor him as a sex offender.

He also has to surrender his license to be a law enforcement officer in Texas.

Authorities said Delgadillo engaged in a relationship with a 14-year-old student in 2015 at Cullen Middle school where he was an on-campus officer.

Delgadillo pleaded guilty to placing the girl's hand on his private parts. Delgadillo resigned soon after the allegations came to light.

The original charge was indecency with a child.  By admitting to the charge of having an improper relationship with a child he will not have to register as a sex offender after the five years are over.
