HOUSTON -

A former Spring ISD music teacher appeared in court Thursday morning to face child pornography charges and prosecutors say there may be more than 150 victims.

Authorities said Derrick Allen Gossett, 32, is accused of posing as a teenage girl on Facebook in order to get naked photos from a 12-year-old boy.

Gossett was arrested earlier this week after nude images of young boys were found inside his Humble home.

Gossett was a music teacher at Anderson Elementary. He was placed on administrative leave on Tuesday and later resigned.

He has been charged with one count of online solicitation of a minor, one count of promotion of child pornography, one count of impersonation and three counts of possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors said authorities believe there is a massive amount of children that Gossett may have solicited online. Investigators are trying to find them all.

“The forensics examiners are hard at work at this case,” said Lacy Johnson, a child exploitation prosecutor. “They have developed a list of 156 people that they need to talk to that they believe may be victims of Mr. Gossett. They, of course, will be getting in contact with those parents and interviewing those children.”

Prosecutors said Gossett may have set up a hidden video camera on school property to record the children. They don't believe anything recorded on that camera was child porn, but they are still concerned.

Johnson said the parents of the 12-year-old boy were vigilant about what he was doing online. When they noticed something suspicious, they alerted police.

Authorities are urging parents to look at their children's social media profiles, contacts and emails for anything that would link their kids to Gossett.

Anyone with information or who believes their child has had online contact with Gossett is encouraged to call the Harris County Tech Crimes Unit.

Authorities said Gossett is not allowed to have contact with anyone under the age of 18. He is specifically prohibited from contacting any of the children related to this case, and is not allowed to access the internet or possess a device that can access the internet.
