HOUSTON -

It's mid-May and the phone is ringing off the hook at Tanglewood Flowers & Garden on Chimney Rock Road and Val Verde Street.

It can only mean one thing.  Mother's Day is almost here.

The holiday brings in all sorts of customers, from the experienced like Scott Coe, to the confused like James Lynn.

"I've been married for 24 years," Coe said.  "So I've had some practice at it."

"I'm not too knowledgeable on my flowers, but I do know roses and tulips," Lynn said.

One thing they most likely can't go wrong about is color.  When it comes to Mother's Day flowers, owner Mory Azadi says pink seems to be the most popular.

"Pink most definitely pink," Azadi said.

Azadi said customers can buy a bunch of tulips for $10 or a bouquet of roses for $35.

He also sells much larger and intricate bouquets for as high as $125.  Those bouquets feature an array of flowers from around the world.

If you're looking to get creative, Azadi and his team can also cater to your ideas.  One customer requested a bouquet that looks like an ice cream cone.

There's not much time left, but whatever petals customers decide to pay for, they say it's the thought that really counts.  "She'll love anything since it's coming from the heart," Lynn said.

Tanglewood Flowers & Garden will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
