HOUSTON -

Five men are in custody, accused of breaking into a man’s car, then opening fire on him, in North Houston.

According to Houston Police Department, the five suspects broke into several vehicles around the Villa Nueva apartments off the North Freeway and Parker Street Tuesday night. As they were breaking into an SUV at the complex, the owner walked out and caught the suspects.

Police said two of the suspects opened fire on the man, grazing him in the arm with buckshot. He was treated at the scene.

Officers found the suspects half an hour later at a nearby apartment complex. Investigators said they found the shotgun used on the victim, along with a pistol and several stolen items from other vehicle burglaries.
