HOUSTON – Five dogs died Wednesday night in a house fire in New Caney, firefighters said.
Officials said seven dogs were left in a burning home at Oak Grove and Lord Drive.
Firefighters rescued two of the dogs, but five died from smoke inhalation.
Officials said a woman in the home was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
