HOUSTON – Arson investigators are looking into what caused a fire to start at an abandoned motel in northwest Houston.
Houston fire officials said the fire started just before 5:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 9300 block of the Eastex Freeway.

No injuries were reported, but the building sustained heavy damage to the office area, according to the Houston Fire Department.
Officials said the fire was declared under control around 6:20 a.m.
The HFD Arson Bureau is investigating the fire's cause.
