Firefighters battle 3-alarm storage facility fire

HUMBLE, Texas – More than 100 firefighters battled a massive blaze at a storage facility.

Investigators said the fire started around 2:20 a.m. on Upper Lake and Atasca Oaks in Humble.

The building is a storage center for boats, cars and recreational vehicles. Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department said the building is very large, spanning two or three hundred fields.

"It [was] a massive operation," said Anthony Turner, a volunteer with the department. "Lots of hoses, long distances, partially because of the size of the building. It is a really large building."

Six fire departments and 30 fire vehicles worked for hours to fight the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
