Firefighter taken to hospital after house fire in NE Houston

HOUSTON – A firefighter was taken to an area hospital after fighting a house fire in northeast Houston Monday, according to authorities.

Authorities said the firefighter was suffering from shortness in breath, but is expected to be OK, authorities said.

No other injuries were reported at the fire near the intersection of Bostic Street and Lockwood Drive.

The homeowner was in the yard when the fire started, authorities said. The homeowner was not injured.

The house is being considered a complete loss, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
