HOUSTON - A Houston firefighter is nursing an injured ankle after he suffered while battling a house fire.
The fire started around 9:30 p.m. Monday on Bleker Street near Lee Street in northeast Houston.
A fire captain working to fight the fire hurt his foot after it either went through the wood floor or it was hit by debris.
The firefighter was taken by ambulance back to the station with a swollen ankle. He is expected to be OK.
Since the home was vacant, firefighters said the fire is considered suspicious.
