Thieves steal fire truck, equipment in Rosehill

ROSEHILL, Texas – Authorities are looking for whoever stole a Rosehill Fire Department truck and medical equipment from a station in Tomball on Monday morning.

The Rosehill Fire Department says the thieves kicked in the door of the station, ransacked it, and then drove one of the trucks through the bay door.

"Some time between midnight and 7 o'clock this morning, we had one of our trucks stolen," said Assistant Fire Chief, Lee Sulecki. "It's a '97 Ford F-350, 4-wheel drive, red in color, white stripes, got Rosehill Fire Department on the doors."

Chief Sulecki says the truck also has an aluminum flat bed and a 300-gallon water tank and booster pump attached to it.

The thieves also took several pieces of medical equipment from a second truck parked in the station.

Other item taken include: a Stihl 14-inch cutoff saw with a chunk carbide blade, a Lifepack 500 Automatic External Defibrillator in a yellow Pelican case, an oxygen delivery system in an orange canvas caddy and a blue canvas medical supply kit.

"It appears they knew what they were going for," said Chief Sulecki. "It points to possibly someone having some fire experience."

The fire department says the property is worth a total of almost $80,000.

Th Texas license plate number of the stolen truck is 775695.
