HOUSTON -

The FBI has a new clue in its search for a lone robber in an armored car heist: a composite sketch of the suspect. The agency released that sketch to the public Tuesday.

The heist happened in broad daylight and outside of a busy shopping center on Aug. 13.

At about 2:15 p.m., the suspect approached a guard for the Loomis Armored Car Service during a stop at the Movie Tavern located at 15719 North Freeway. Police say the suspect pointed a gun at the guard, then grabbed the bag and ran to the east along the sidewalk and towards the North Freeway.

Witnesses observed the suspect getting into a dark-colored Pontiac sedan driven by an unknown individual. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is about 25- 30 years old, and 5 foot 9 to 6 foot 2, 190 pounds with a medium build and a medium complexion. He had a goatee. He wore a black t-shirt, black basketball shorts, black Jordan tennis shoes, and a black ball cap. He carried a black semiautomatic pistol in his left hand during the robbery.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber. If you have information about this crime, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
