HOUSTON – The FBI and police in Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas are searching for a serial bank robber dubbed the "Loan Ranger Bandit."
Officials said the suspect is believed to have committed a string of robberies from January 2009 to October 2013 in the three states:
- January 16, 2009: Summit Bank, 1114 Highway 35 South, Benton, Arkansas
- June 30, 2011: Summit Bank, 1114 Highway 35 South, Benton, Arkansas
- July 21, 2011: Citibank, 3701 Fairway Boulevard, Wichita Falls, Texas
- August 31, 2011: Altra Federal Credit Union, 5523 Troup Highway, Tyler, Texas
- October 4, 2011: Temple Santa Fe Community Credit Union, 1750 West Avenue A, Temple, Texas
- January 4, 2012: Union State Bank, 902 Palm Valley Boulevard, Round Rock, Texas
- May 17, 2012: BBVA Compass, 6910 South Broadway Ave., Tyler, Texas
- July 9, 2012: First State Bank Central Texas, 50 South Main Street, Salado, Texas
- August 17, 2012, FedStar Credit Union, 701 Harvey Road, College Station, Texas
- October 26, 2012, BancorpSouth Bank, 2174 Main Street, Madison, Mississippi
The suspect was dubbed the "Loan Ranger Bandit" for the blue Texas Rangers baseball cap he wore while robbing banking institutions where loans are offered.
According to the FBI, the armed man, who did not attempt to disguise his face, showed a note demanding 20-, 50- and 100-dollar bills and left the bank after receiving undisclosed amounts of money.
Authorities said no one has been injured during any of these bank robberies.
The FBI describes the "Loan Ranger Bandit" as a white male in his early 30s, 5'7" to 6'0" tall, about 200 pounds, with a medium build. He has short light brown hair, wears glasses, and has a small mole or mark just above his right eye on the lower part of his forehead. His word different outfits clothing styles have included athletic wear, jeans, and business attire.
Officials said the suspect may drive a maroon Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with a thin white pinstripe around the truck bed.
The FB said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of this robber. Anyone with information related to these robberies should call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online.
