FBI Arrests Grandmother On Child Porn Charge

HOUSTON – A Houston grandmother has been arrested by FBI agents after nude photos of a 9-year-old relative were found on her computer, Local 2 Investigates reported Thursday.

Debra Jean Eyerly, 53, who lives in apartments on Cypress Trace in northwest Harris County, has been charged with a federal count of possession of child pornography.

A judge ordered that she remain behind bars this week pending her trial.

In court papers, FBI agents wrote that they knocked on her door when she was living in Conroe in 2005, after linking a computer at her address to child pornography that was being shared on the Internet.

Agents said a popular file-sharing site was allowing a computer at her address to share a number of child pornography pictures with others who were logged onto the site.

The man she was dating in Conroe told agents he had once moderated a special chat room devoted to sharing child pornography, but he had stopped long ago.

Agents then confiscated a Kodak EasyShare CD40 camera, which allows photos to be quickly uploaded to the Internet.

Agents wrote that Eyerly had possession of that digital camera, along with a 128 megabyte storage card and a desktop computer.

When agents sent the computer equipment away for forensic examination, agents said they found several nude and sexual images of a 9-year-old who is related to her.

The photos were described in court papers as follows:

  • Fully nude girl in sexual pose on bed with stuffed animal partially hiding her face.
  • Nude girl in sexual pose with her eyes closed and arms bound together above her head with green rope.
  • Nude girl in sexual pose while reading a book.

Her attorney did not respond to a request for comment.

Her next date in federal court has not been set.
