Police seek father suspected of causing brain injury to child

Houston police are searching for a father who is wanted on reckless injury to a child charges. 

Police say Adam Orosco, 20, caused a serious brain injury to his 4-month-old child on Dec. 27, 2016. According to court documents, Orosco told police he just gave the child a bath and started tossing the infant in the air and swung him around.

However, when he stopped, the child's arm was still and his lips looked different. 

Court documents state Orosco called the child's mother. The child's mother then called an ambulance to take the infant to a hospital.

According to doctors, the child's injuries were consistent with abuse and it appeared the child had been shaken violently.

"According to the medical records the complainant was admitted and diagnosed with acute respiratory failure, unspecified whether with hypoxia or hypercapria, retinal hemorrhage, bilateral traumatic subdural hemorrhage without loss consciousness," court documents state. "It was stated the [child's] injuries were consistent with the [child] being shaken violently."  

During a follow-up visit with doctors, the child was developing normally. However, doctors stated he may have developmental issues as he ages, court documents stated.

The father is now charged with reckless injury to a child.

He is currently on the run.

Orosco, 20, is Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and tattoos on his back and arms.
