A father called Pasadena police for help to find his missing daughter Monday, but he ended up discovering her body himself.
The 26-year-old kept daily contact with her father and when she did not call Monday, he became concerned.
"He speaks to her every morning, and didn't hear from her Monday," said Vance Mitchell, spokesman for the Pasadena Police Department. "She also didn't show up for work, so he began to think something was wrong."
The woman's father reported her missing to Pasadena police around 6 p.m. Monday.
Police said that evening her father and a foreman from work went looking for her at the Casa Palmas Apartments in the 3500 block of Red Bluff near the East Beltway.
They found her dead slumped over in her car in the parking lot.
Police are now trying to determine how she ended up there and what lead up to her death.
"She doesn't live at this apartment complex, so we still don't know why she was here," said Mitchel. "There also doesn't appear to be any sign of struggle inside of the car. We are not ruling out foul play, but right now it doesn't seem likely."
Investigators have not released the woman's name.
An autopsy is expected to be performed.
