HOUSTON – A father is facing criminal charges after being accused of using his cigarette to burn his child.
Anthony Parker is now charged with injury to a child. Police say Parker did it because his daughter was having problems reciting the alphabet in October.

Investigators say he held the 5-year-old down, then burned her chest.
Parker is in jail facing the felony charge.
