Fast food robbers on the run

Employees hid after gunmen broke into a McDonald's

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who broke into a McDonald's restaurant at a Shell station on SH 242 and IH 45 Saturday morning.

A witness called 911 at about 3:00 a.m. and said the men crawled through the drive-thru window of the restaurant with handguns.

Oak Ridge and Conroe Police officers arrived on the scene and believed that employees were still inside the store with the suspects.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies said one employee was able to escape the building safely out the drive-thru window while the suspects were distracted.

Initial attempts to contact anyone inside the business were unsuccessful and SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene.

Eventually one employee came out that had been hiding behind a counter.

Two employees were unaccounted for and were believed to still be inside the business.

SWAT entered the business and found two employees hiding in a backroom, but the suspects were gone.

"We don't believe they got out as the SWAT team and as many of the other units began to arrive. Of course, there's always a delay from the time that there's notification of the crime and certainly the arrival of the SWAT team. So somewhere in there we believe fully that they exited the store," said Dan Norris with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators with the Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers interviewed witnesses.

The suspects are described as two black men,  5'9 - 5'10 in height, wearing a black hoodie, mask and gloves.
