Family of special needs student denied homecoming plans new dance

Baytown Fair Grounds said they have a bulding the family can use

BAYTOWN, Texas - The family of the special needs girl denied taking her homecoming date is planning their own dance.

Goose Creek Consolidated ISD told Courtney LeBlanc she couldn't bring her 26-year-old special needs friend to the homecoming dance because he is too old.

On Thursday, the school said they would allow him to come, but the family told Local 2 there has been so much support for Courtney, they are planning their own dance.

The mother says people are calling saying they will help donate to the dance.

Baytown Fair Grounds said they have a building the family can use.
