HOUSTON -

A family of eight safely escaped after a car fire spread to their home.

According to Cy-Fair Fire Department, firefighters responded to the house around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy flames coming from the house and from a car parked in front.

Firefighters made a fast attack and were able to put the flames out quickly.

According to investigators, there were eight family members home at the time of the fire, including four children and four adults.

Officials said a Ford Mustang parked in the driveway close to the house caught fire and the flames then spread to the house.

The family told officials that they had recently had repairs done to the Mustang. The car was completely burned.

No one was injured.
