Family makes plea for return of cellphone containing late father's messages

HOUSTON – A family from Washington recently in town for a visit is now desperately searching for their missing cellphone with lots of memories.

KC Javellana and her family recently dropped by Houston to visit friends and all was going pretty well until they stopped by a Walmart off Louetta Crossing in Spring.

By the time they left, they had lost something very important -- a forgotten phone in a bathroom stall.

"As I was leaving, I wasn't a foot out of the door and realized I left my phone in the stall. So I went back and unfortunately it was already gone," Javellana said.

It's what was on the iPhone that means so much to Javellana.

"I had all of my text messages, my videos and voicemails. Just everything between me and my father," Javellana said.

As it turns out, weeks before losing her phone, Javellana lost her dad.

At only 44, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away.

"I wasn't too focused on the phone itself, just the content inside of it. I was losing my father all over again. I lost all of his memories, basically," Javellana said.

No one ever turned the phone in and instead, whoever did find it disabled the Find My iPhone feature, making it that much harder for Javellana and her family to track it down.

"If you do return it, no questions asked. Not angry or anything like that. I'd just really like all of that stuff back and no hard feelings," Javellana said.

She's now counting on someone reading this story to have a change of heart and return what she holds so dear.

"If you are to lose someone as close to you as your parent, how would you feel if someone takes something so significant of yours?" Javellana said.
