HOUSTON – Fire damaged a discount store in an east Houston shopping center Friday.
Houston firefighters battled flames at the Family Dollar store on Federal near Market about 4:30 a.m.

Firefighters forced their way into the store and found the fire in the cash register area. They quickly extinguished it.
Investigators said the exact cause of the fire has not been determined, but they believe it was electrical in nature.
No injuries were reported.
