Family asks for help solving woman's death at bus stop

Sadie Butler's body found at bus stop on West Tidwell near Antoine

HOUSTON – The daughter of a woman found dead at a bus stop in northwest Houston shared her story in hopes that it will help find her mother's killer.

"That's my mom. And I miss her so much," said Priscilla Caldwell.

Caldwell wants to know who killed her mother and why. She said her mother was taking a walk when she was killed.

According to police, someone hit 57-year old Sadie Butler in the head on Saturday morning. The killer then left her at the bus stop on West Tidwell and Antoine in northwest Houston, outside an empty grocery store parking lot, detectives said.

"Evil, heartless, troubled," said Caldwell. "I don't know. I wish I did. Whatever the reasons are, as I said, I just wish they'll come forward so me and my family can get closure with this."

Caldwell said she does not believe the killer wanted her mother's money, since police recovered her money and purse.

"If you did it, just come forward. We all make mistakes," said Caldwell.

A memorial has been planned for Friday at 7 pm at the bus stop on West Tidwell and Antoine in northwest Houston.

Anyone with information about Butler's death is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
