HOUSTON – A former math teacher accused of having inappropriate relationships with at least four students faced a judge Friday.

LaShawn Bailey Simmons, 41, heard her rights read to her by a judge during her probable cause hearing.

Simmons has been charged with several counts, including online solicitation of a minor and sexual assault of a minor. Investigators said they suspect she had sex with several Dobie High School students.

Simmons turned herself in just days before the hearing, but posted a $60,000 bond and has yet to spend any time in jail.

Officials said she resigned from her position as a math teacher at Beverly Hills Intermediate School in the Pasadena Independent School District last month, before she could be fired.

She's set to be back in court for arraignment on April 1.
