Ex-teacher accused of having relationship with student

HOUSTON – A former Sealy teacher has been accused of having an relationship with a student, according to police.

Stacey Manning, 36, resigned from her position at Sealy High School on April 2. She worked in the school's career and technology department.

According to the Texas Education Agency and police, Manning had the inappropriate relationship with the 18-year-old student in March.

School district officials said they aren't aware of any other allegations against Manning.

Manning was released from jail Wednesday afternoon after posting a $10,000 bond.

No trial date has been set. If she is convicted of second-degree felony inappropriate relationship with a student, she could get up to 20 years in prison.
